8th Grade Textbook Collections

Good Evening 8th Grade Parents,

Thank you for your patience on receiving information regarding end of the year activities. At this point we have a process for collecting essential school site items from 8th grade students only on May 27-June 2. Per district guidelines, we will only be collecting textbooks, instruments, and uniforms during this time. 8th grade students who received a district device (laptop or Chromebook) will be allowed to keep the device over the summer and return it when they start high school in Fall. If any 8th grade students are moving out of the district, they will need to return their device with their textbooks. Promotion certificates will also be distributed to 8th graders when they return their textbook, choir uniforms, and instruments. Below are the assigned days and times for MMS, followed by drive up/drop off procedures.

The collection process will essentially be a "drive up/drop off" process in the front main parking lot since no student or parents are permitted to enter any buildings. All families will need to enter the main parking lot and they will be directed towards an available drop off spot. To help keep our staff and families safe and healthy during this collection, please follow these guidelines:

  • Families should wear face coverings when returning items.
  • Have the student’s name posted on the front windshield: Last name, First name
  • Have the textbooks on the passenger side of the car to give to a MMS staff member.
  • Please attend only the time you’ve been assigned. If you cannot make your assigned time, attend one of the make-up days.

To see a list of textbooks, novels, or other library books your student has checked out, you can log into their Destiny account and view their checkout materials. Instructions for finding your students account can be found here. At this time, we do not have any information on when we will be able to distribute yearbooks, but we should know soon. Students who have not purchased a yearbook can still buy one online by going to the MMS website.

Thank you and have a great evening,

Marshall Middle School
