Welcome to Marshall Middle School!

I hope you all had a relaxing summer and that you are ready for another great school year. This will be my 7th year teaching at Marshall and I feel very fortunate to be working at a school with such a supportive staff, administration, and community.

About me:
I am originally from Orange County, CA. I played college baseball for two years at Santa Ana College before moving to San Diego to earn my bachelor's degree from San Diego State University. I loved it here so much that I decided to stay! I went on to earn both my teaching credential and masters degree from SDSU.
I love to stay physically active and have a ton of hobbies to match! When I'm not at Marshall, you can usually find me at the beach surfing, lobster diving, SCUBA diving, or running on the boardwalk. I also enjoy boxing, playing the guitar, snowboarding, hiking, and camping. Traveling is a huge part of my life. Whether it's a weekend trip to Chicago or a backpacking adventure through Southeast Asia, I just can't get enough! I value experiencing different cultures and continuing to learn everything I can about our world. I'm a student too!

I will be teaching all functional subjects including language arts, math, social studies, science, and life skills for grades 6-8. I am also an advisor for our school's Peer Tutor program. This program is in its 3rd year of development at Marshall and has been extremely successful. A solid foundation has been built for many years to come and we plan to continuously increase educational opportunities for ALL of our students. As always, I will ensure that your child’s individual needs and goals are met through ongoing consultation and collaboration with the entire IEP team.

It is my constant goal to be as accessible to you as possible. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions and/or concerns. I am committed to providing you and your child with any support necessary in a prompt manner. The best way to reach me is via email.

I have compiled a variety of resources that you and your family may find useful. They have been organized into topics and can be found in the "Parents" tab on my website. I encourage you to explore these links and use them as you see fit. I am always happy to answer questions, clarify any information, or help you find ways to implement effective strategies at home.

All students have multiple strengths and abilities. I am excited to help your student use his/her individual strengths to enhance growth and development, and of course, to have fun doing it! If we all work together as a team, I am confident that your child will have a successful and positive experience this year. I look forward to working with you!
