Here at Marshall, I find that students, parents and teachers work as a team to provide the best possible learning environment for our students. My main goal is to create an exciting and challenging environment that students look forward to each day. A second goal is to maintain a positive atmosphere by modeling respect, honesty, compassion and empathy toward all people here at MMS. Transitioning to middle school or to a new grade level can be a difficult and scary time for some. I hope I can set the children at ease and inspire them to be life-long learners. Please encourage your child to love the challenges of math and accept mistakes along the way. Mistakes should be seen as a learning opportunity - not a failure.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my husband, our two daughters,  and our dog, Cooper. My husband also teaches at Marshall - in fact his room is right across the hall from mine. Our oldest daughter is a graduate of the University of Oregon (Go Ducks!) where she studied Journalism and is a 6th grade English teacher at Dana Middle School in Point Loma. Our youngest daughter is a Duck as well, completing her degree in Art. She is also a teacher, teaching Art in a middle school in northern California.  Our son-in-law is student teaching at PLHS this year where he coaches water polo  and our youngest daughter's boyfriend just completed his Master's Degree in English Literature and is now teaching at SFSU. I guess you could say that teaching is the family business.
