Hello current students and parents. I began working in for SDUSD in 2003 with a 2-year stint at Dingeman Elementary. I moved to Marshall Middle School in 2005 and have been teaching study skills and co-teaching in English and history classes since that time. I am also proud to be a founding member of the peer tutor program here at Marshall.
I received a BA from the University of Southern Mississippi in Psychology which led to a Master’s degree in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling from the University of San Diego. I worked at Children’s Outpatient Psychiatry for a number of years before attending CSUSM to get my Education Specialist teaching credential and my multiple subjects credential. After all of these years, I am still thrilled to be a part of the greatest profession. That may be in no small part to the fact that I work at such a wonderful school with truly amazing students, families, and staff.
I have four children: Miranda and Quinton, my adult stepchildren, both live here in San Diego and work in the field of Internet marketing. Madison (19), is in her sophomore year at Brown University where she is concentrating in environmental science and playing Division 1 softball. My youngest, Kodiak, is 17 and a senior at San Pasqual High School. He loves playing volleyball and plans to major in philosophy and theology next year in college. My husband and I also have a goofy dog named Mack who is constantly getting into everything and making life interesting.
When I'm not at school, I love to read, travel, garden, cook, listen to music, hang out at the beach, watch movies, and spend time with my wonderful family and friends. Thank you for the opportunity to be a part of your lives.
