Hello to you...current students, former students, and friends!  I have been working in Scripps Ranch schools since May 1989!  Jerabek was my my first home and now I am at Marshall Middle School and teaching 8th grade English.

My BA from San Diego State University in English led me to graduate work in American Literature and two teaching credentials: a Multiple Subject Credential and a Single Subject Credential in English.  The school district first hired me as an Instructional Aide, then as a Writing Consultant for the GATE program, and then as a teacher. Over twenty-eight years later, I am still thrilled to be hanging out with kids everyday!

I have two daughters: Marlie graduated with a BFA in Dance Performance from The Boston Conservatory. She is now in San Francisco with the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance as well as dancing as an independent artist. Britta is a senior at TCU in Ft. Worth, Texas studying graphic design. (Go Horned Frogs!)  I am a widow, a mama, a teacher, a friend, a reader, and a life-long learner.

I love to read, ski Mammoth Mountain, practice yoga, sleep, listen to music, play at the beach, fish and hike, visit Minnesota, eat ice cream, drink coffee, and do ANYTHING with my kids. I love sponsoring the Just People Club, the Coloring Club, and the Newspaper Club at Marshall. I am a founding board member of Partners in College Success, a non-profit organization which helps low income, first generation students in East County get into college and graduate.
